How To Make United India Bike Insurance Claim?
1To Claim Bike Accident
- Step 1: After the accident, take necessary measures to ensure your safety. Then, if needed, file an FIR.
- Step 2: Send your bike to a network garage for repair. The garage will initiate the claim process and send it to the insurer.
- Step 3: Then the insurer will send a surveyor to inspect the damages and analyse the situation.
- Step 4: After receiving approval from the surveyor, the garage will begin the repair work.
- Step 5: Once the repair is finished, the surveyor makes another visit to see the final work and issues a DO.
- Step 6: If you go for a cashless claim, the insurer directly pays the garage.
- Step 7: If you go for reimbursement, the insurer settles the bill with you based on the terms of your policy.
2To Claim Bike Theft
- Step 1: In case of theft of the bike, an FIR needs to be filed and informed to the insurance company without any further delay.
- Step 2: Submit all the required documents to the insurance company, along with the original keys of the bike.
- Step 3: The police issue a non-traceable certificate after a specific time given by them to locate your bike.
- Step 4: With that certificate, the insurance company will consider it a total loss and will return you the IDV value of your bike.
3To Claim Third-Party Damages
- Step 1: If there is an accident and you hit somebody else's bike, inform the police and the insurance provider immediately.
- Step 2: If somebody hits your bike, just get his insurance details and claim it under third-party liability.
- Step 3: Then the case is sent to the Motor Insurance Claim Tribunal Court by the insurance company for getting the final decision regarding the case.
- Step 4: The matter is then taken to the tribunal court, which decides how much should be paid as compensation.
- Step 5: In case it is your fault, you follow the same procedure and then compensate the third party.
Note: In the case of third-party damage, there are two aspects: in the case of a property damage case, compensation limits are drawn to ₹1 lakh. In the case of injury/disability or death, the compensation amount shall be determined by the tribunal court.
